    2nd Swing Golf Used GC2

I am at the point where the LM needs to be purchased for my Sim. I am going to use the GC2 and only use it indoors. I am going to hard wire it to the computer and run a HDMI to the projector from the computer. When I called 2nd Swing they are selling the GC2 without Bluetooth and a unit that has to be plugged in at all times. If these are the only two caveats I do not mind the half price unit since it should not affect my setup. Pardon my ignorance as this is my first build.

However do you think there are other issues with a unit in the condition which they are selling? For my setup is it justifiable to get a new GC2 directly from Foresight or a retailer?

    Thank you guys.

Get a new one if you are worried about warranty or battery life, but not cost.

If you want to use either PG or GC2, or any other simulation software besides FSX, then you need bluetooth to work.

Battery doesn't matter, unless you want to take it outdoors.

You don't need the GC2a (apple) if you're just planning on using it with a PC and some simulation software or the android app.

Goatbarn is spot on - there are probably selling an older non apple compatable bluetooth gc2 - but these will work just fine woth tgc or pg. The only downside is not being able to use the IOS app from foresight.

That is exactly how my gc2 is right now - battery dead and older bluetooth model and no issues what so ever in tgc.

The ones at 2ndswing do not have functioning bluetooth. In order to use it for TGC or PG you will have to pay $500 USD to fix the bluetooth.

You may want to call again and get cleared up. Last I checked ALL of them had working bluetooth...including the one I'm using.

Do you mean apple bluetooth? Cuz that may be, but as has been said, you don't need a GC2a for TGC or PG

I asked them last week. I just asked about bluetooth in general. I didn't mention apple at all. They said none of their units had working bluetooth.

I just received an e-mail this morning from 2nd swing saying their gc2s have no bluetooth capability. I have e-mailed back asking questions but no reply yet. I was thinking maybe they are confused with apple compatible gc2s. Can any qualified person repair the bluetooth if it is not working?

Do you also need a Bluetooth computer to make TGC work?

Yes. But you can buy bluetooth adapters for $15.

Wow, I was about to ask exactly the same question. Does anyone know if you need to send to Foresight to get the bluetooth fixed or can a computer tech manage it?

Yes, your computer will need a bluetooth adapter to work with tgc. Those are cheap, though ($20-30 ). Bigger issue is getting the gc2 bluetooth fixed. Not sure if anyone besides Foresight could fix that. I wouldn't think so.

I just bought two units from Second Swing. Both were older non-Apple models from 2010. One had a working battery, the other did not. However, with the right Bluetooth adapter, both connected to PCs. I will say that the both units had trouble connecting to my laptop's built in Bluetooth. This bluetooth adapter is recommended for PG and worked well with both units: Asus BT400 http://www.amazon.com/ASUS-USB-Adapt.../dp/B00DJ83070

Hey guys I need your help. A friend of mine has a gc2 and the worst software. Don't want to name it but I think you know what I'm talking about. I wanted to to show him e6 and downloaded the trial . The problem is when installing the 30 day trial it doesn't give you foresight as a manufacturer. Doesn't it work with the gc2 or what do you have to select ? Please help

Only Foresight Software works with the GC2. The only way I know to get E6 to work with a GC2 is bluetooth using the Protee interface and Protee GSX.

Yes that's the only way. So you need to have GSX, which captures the data measured by gc2 by bluetooth and sends it along to protee interface and then to e6.

Hey Gamble Gamble, just FYI this used GC2a w 18 hours to go in bidding (I believe it's an Apple-compatible 'a' model looking at the 'A' in the serial number but don't hold me to it) seems quite reasonably priced if one can get it below $4k (I would buy if I wasn't stuck to my ST and have committed to staying w my ST for rest of year to see how things play out w ST):

                    http://www.ebay.com/itm/191803016014...%3AMEBIDX%3AIT

And I'm just guessing higher serial number means newer units? I'm not sure at all about this so don't hold me to it. But if true this one looks newer than another Apple-compatible unit w a lower serial number that just got sold for $4,551 (http://www.ebay.com/itm/Foresight-Sp...vip=true&rt=nc). Also someone mentioned that there is a crack that might mean it might have been dropped before - not sure but at least from the pictures it seems like the unit was able to boot up ok using v1.7 firmware?

Just sharing info since you seem the closest to pulling the trigger on a GC2 (new or used). Good luck man.

doublebogey thanks for looking out for me. I just pulled the trigger on a new one just for piece of mind. They got the number under 8k with FSX so I jumped on it.

If I had 1/4 of the carpentry skills you have, I would have went ProTee, but I had to pay the premium for my lack of skills.

Good for you. You will love it. If you're going with FSX why not order the HMT for shirts and giggles.

                        Thank you!

If HMT was a 2k add on it would be reasonable, but for 7k, I would rather just get extra lessons or just use the GC2 and apply ball-flight laws to fill in the club information.

I am using FSX for the compete and the driving range features, I plan on using TGC (and possibly PG during the demo phase) for the sim. TGC looks gorgeous and I want to play Magnolia in April while watching the Masters.

Wow seriously??? But it means Gamble Gamble got a pretty good deal - meaning that if he valued the FSX at only $2.5k he bought a brand new GC2 for <$5.5k...

                          My bill ended up:

                          GC2a: 5900
                          FSX: 1945
                          Case: 155

FS said the pricing was going up this year which I thought was just part of a sales pitch, but Par2Pro confirmed this was true when I called to get my screen.

My FS rep was really good and kept me informed throughout.
