They need to update their software so it can identify e-mail addresses that are hidden in pictures instead of in the text of the auction.

A scammer will never allow you to pay with any type of method that is 1. traceable and/or 2. protects the buyer. They will almost always request Western Union, Walmart or other wire transfer.

If he puts it back up again, I'm going to inquire. At this point, we need to have a little fun with him at the very least.

Someone who has received his bank transfer instructions should instruct the bank (if indeed it's Wells Fargo) to investigate the account for fraud and have bank close account and report to authorities.

The scam usually involves asking the purchaser to issue a bank transfer through Wells Fargo.

just wondering how he expects to get away with it? Even if someone was to bite and purchase outside of ebay, if they use a credit card they could get their money back, if they use paypal they'd also get their money back. In the end he can't really win can he?

Once again, the red flag is the account with only a single previous transaction (as a buyer), as well as the picture where he asks you to e-mail him (so that he can request that the transaction be done outside of eBay).

I reported him as well. They took is down already.

Two big red flags:

1. The account with only a single feedback--and that was from a purchase.
2. Including 14 courses with it for only $2,000. At least try to be convincing and include 4-5.

It's gone now. With the picture pasted in there, eBay doesn't see any violation of guidelines until it's reported.

ive reported it twice now - you would think ebay would shut this down quicker...
