first time poster --just bought used gc2a, but no software

Hi all, after years of agonizing, finally bought a used gc2a, but with no software. I have a 14x16 room with 11 ft ceiling and want to make a simulator. At this stage, I don't have a net, screen or mat. I have a spare projector that I could use from an old home theater. Looking for any or all advice from those that have a simulator and any pitfalls to avoid. I am pretty eager to get going so I might buy the iPad app and a net of some sort just to get going.

Don't bother with the app. Just get sim software. You'll abandon the app the second you have software. Perfect Golf is close to free for now. Put up a screen and start with PG.

If you don't me asking, what did you pay for it? Did you buy from a format business, or a private party? I'm going to see what the ES-16 brings, but there is a good chance I go the used GC2 route.

Did you try google? Type perfect golf gc2

Oneiron - PerfectGolf is a game on steam (PC). Download steam and look for PerfectGolf. Once you have it insalled, there is an interface that you need to download in order to use your GC2 as the input into the game.

For what it's worth, I have perfect golf, and I still plan on getting the ipad app once I make my GC2 apple compatible. I don't have a dedicated sim room, so I'd use the app when I just want to quickly hit a few balls and not mess with bringing my laptop out in the garage, plus I'd be taking it to the range in the spring/summer.

Wouldn't it would be cheaper to just buy an android tablet rather than sending your unit in to be upgraded for apple compatibility? Shipping, insurance plus foresight upgrade cost has to be more i would think. Tablets are cheap these days and the app seems cheaper on Android than apple anyways.

Also for quick hitting and range i just look at the numbers on the unit and don't bother with the app. Why would you use the app?

wow FaultyClubs I don't know why I didn't think of that! hahah. I assumed that the app was only in the iOS store. Time to start looking at some cheap andriod tablets.
I do the same thing now that you're talking about as well. I can pretty much look at the numbers and I know my ideal numbers. I thought the app allows you to see your shot groupings and put different colors on different clubs. I just thought that would be a better visual for shot grouping compared to what I'm doing now in an excel spreadsheet


EDIT: I was looking into this more and foresight's site states that the app connects to the gc2a, apple or andriod. That makes me think the app only works on gc2a's. Can anyone confirm the app will work with the regular GC2 on andriod?

Nope... Just shows a digital version of the GC2 face. Same data.

You can definitely group clubs, different balls as well I think. Ipad app is actually quite informative, very good for practice sessions.
