Looking for opinions

There are a couple GC2s I've been looking at and want opinions.

First is a GC2a w/ FR1 fitting software and cradle for $6500.

Second is GC2 w/ fitting software and 32 courses for $7300.

It looks like GC2's are gonna be going for around $4200+ for the near future ( based on EBay listing).

For people with the fitting software, do you feel it's worth 2k?

Also, I know TGC and PG are highly rated, but are Foresight courses good enough to spend $700-$1000 for 32 courses?

GC2/FR1/TGC owner here, and strictly my own opinion. I haven't looked at those GC2's sold at low $4K range myself but a late model (less than 2yr. old) GC2a is hard to find, has many more years to next service call, and should fetch more as supported by competing brand price points and scarcity, I would hope.

TGC is absolutely fantastic for a sim, free from major bugs, and they keep making it better every few months. Having said that, I still use FR1 for all my practices and pre-simulator warm-up's as FR1 has all needed practice features just one click away, no server connections or bandwidth or rewinds to hassle with. FR1 is also the (most) cost effective way to work with an HMT, if you are willing to go that far. In short, TGC is beginning to have some practice features but does not try to also be an FR1 in full.

Lastly, the old FSS courses are well made, resides on your hard drive, just don't have the needed modern graphics. TGC already has its own library of recreations of famous courses. $20+ per course is not a bad price for the FSS courses, but most likely, you would do most of your sim play on TGC.

I am tempted but they both stretch the budget so that's why I wanted opinions. I've made offers on both without any software but they come as a package deal.

I know I would use the fitting software a little bit. ( especially with adjustable clubs) but I don't know if it's worth 2k+. BK's response had me leaning towards the GC2a.

Prices seem a bit high relative to the gc2 going on eBay for 4500. But the eBay one doesnt have the software. Let me know if you decide against purchasing either of them. I might be interested.

Looks like I'm joining the GC2 ranks. Just purchased the GC2a. It was purchased new late 2014 from Par2Pro and includes Performance starter pack, protective shield, and spare flash module.

$6300 all in. A bit more than I was planning on spending, but overall I'm happy. Mario, I'll send you a PM with info for the other one.

Btw - congrats. You did up your limit. Looked back at a previous post on another thread where you said the used one on eBay was getting too pricey.

I feel like I stayed in budget for the GC2, I was always thinking around 4k for it. If you figure 2k for the software and 300 for the shield and extra flash, that's right on.

However I was never planning on getting FR1, so that was unexpected. But bonus was a bit bigger this year than expected, so I splurged and still have Just enough left to get TGC.

I also got a better unit than I expected. Less than 18 months old, and under 20 hours of use. Hopefully shouldn't have to deal with any hardware issues. It seems comparable to the one on EBay which I'm guessing will get some last minute bids and end up around 5k.
