Life of GC2 flash module

Have not seen any GC2 users complain about life of the flash here. I purchased a unit in October of 2015 and cannot average more than 400 shots a week. My initial flash is already out of commission. Should I expect needing a new flash 3-4 times a year? I spoke with Foresight and they are claiming that with lower speed shots (chips and putts) the number of flashes that occur are much greater and thus decrease longevity. So, they did not think the 4-5 month life of my flash was abnormal. They also hinted at the release of a more expensive flash that will carry a 1 year warranty. Depending on price, not sure that will solve my new problem of 450-600 bucks a year on flashes. Curious to know what others are getting out of their flashes...

I got my gc2 used a year and a half ago. The flash is still going strong. The only chips I ever hit are when playing simulated courses. As for putts I probably haven't hit 25 in all that time since I consider putting in a simulation a waste of time since it's relationship to anything on a real golf course is pretty much non existent and practice putting on a mat can be done without a launch monitor.. I have no idea how many full shots and pitches I have hit in all that time but it must be well over 10K. In the winter months it's usually over 100 a day between practice shots and playing simulations where I use auto putt thus no extra flashes once the ball is on the green.

I hit tons of shots and chips and putts. My flash weakened after 15 months but still worked.

If they didn't remove the flash count from the latest firmware you would be able to see where you are at.

A flash is supposed to handle 40,000 hits (not flashes) so with your 400 per week you should have 2 years worth if you played 52 weeks of the year. I have seen flash counts in the high 578,000 range and on average a flash goes off an average of 10 times for a general hit. A couple more possibly on putts and slow moving shots and possibly a couple less on faster hit shots but an average of 10 is close. With 40,000 hits that would work out to 400,000 flashes on the min side. The 578,000 was at a golf town and was missing a lot of shots and they were ready to replace.

I put in a new flash last year near the middle of the season and the flash is showing less than 40% used. I am looking to get a few years out of mine and I hit 500 to 800 shots a week.
