    GC2 and Floor Area

    Hi - I'm looking to setup an indoor golf simulator and due to space constraints I was thinking about the GC2 as I'm familiar with the system. I'm also looking for a system that will also give club path readings.

    The room I have available is 3.75m X 2.75m. Height is not an issue.

    Will this room be big enough to setup a GC2, Projector, Net/white screen etc. Or will it be too small ? I'm keen to hear from anyone that has setup a similar system in the same size of room and any comments you may have.

      That room is really small. I don't know if I could swing a driver. Best to hang some tarps in a garage and swing away to see if you can handle it.

          The area really has nothing to do with a GC2. It needs about 20 inches from the spot you are hitting the ball. This plus how far you are going to be from the ball and the width of your follow through behind you sets the minimum width. Minimum depth only depends on how wide you swing is with the longest club front to back. The GC2 needs less then a foot of ball travel.

          A standalone GC2 does not read club path unless you have a HMT addition which about doubles the price of the system. If you have a decent swing (can get the club face close to straight ahead at impact) you can get a good idea of the swing path by observing the start direction (azimuth) and the direction of side spin. If you have severe face rotation through the hitting area then the previous does not apply unless you have exquisite and repeatable timing..
