  • How do you align the GC2?

With my skytrak I used the alignment mode and a laser. What do you guys do to align your GC2?

  • #2
You align it mostly by eye. In TGC, search for flat putting green. It was designed for aligning the GC2. Putt and align until the ball goes where the GC2 says it's going. ie, 2 degrees right misses the hole to the right.

I'll do that. How far of a putt is 2 degrees a miss?

        probably 3-4 yards

I use a yard stick... place it perpendicular to the GC2 (keep it flush with the locking lip that swings down to raise the unit off the ground) and eyeball the yardstick to see if it's parallel to my CCE hitting strip. You could measure both ends of the stick to the ends of the hitting strip to see if it's exactly parallel.

The case allows an alignment stick. I could measure both ends from the hitting strip. Great idea!

It depends how long the putt is but go on the putting green and putt. It'll become obvious.

I align mine with a yardstick the same way jb does. Right down to the CCE hitting strip! Lol.

BamaGambler Let us know your thoughts on the GC2... Not sure if you recall, but I brought up the fact that you were building such a nice simulator, but not upgrading to a better launch monitor. I'm glad you finally did! The performance fitting should be a blast and most likely improve your game right off the bat. I couldn't spend the extra 6k to get HMT, so I use video analysis software and slow motion cameras to capture my swing for club path analysis.

                    Enjoy!

Yeah the more I thought about it the more I thought the gc2 was worth the upgrade. So far I'm not disappointed! If I was just interested in sim play then I probably wouldn't have upgraded but I really want to get better. I want to reach scratch. I know that is a very lofty goal but everyone needs a crazy goal like that, right?

Bama...would love to read a new post about your up grade to gc2 and impressions in general as I have followed your Sim buildup and am considering gc2 (selling skytrak) for similar reasons. One of which is a Sim room in a house we will build over the next year and a half. Thanks

What camera and software do you use for swing analysis?
