  • FSX version 2.2

    Good evening,

I had not checked for FSX updates in a couple of weeks, but I saw this update is tonight:

    Version 2.2.0.0
    This update includes:
    Bluetooth
    Weather
    Misc. Bug Fixes/Improvements

The addition of bluetooth support is nice since that's one less cord running across the room.

The biggest question I have is whether this affects the ability to interface with TGC in any way. I haven't purchased TGC yet so I can't test myself, but I do plan on buying soon and want to make sure FSX 2.2 is "safe".

    Thanks

FSX update shouldn't break TGC. Only thing that could is a firmware update to the GC2 itself. Also,, if you are looking to run TGC and FSX at the same time you will not be able to connect both at the same time via bluetooth. I run both at the same time with FSX via usb and TGC via bluetooth.

Also, where are you checking for FSX updates - the support page does not list FSX updates?

Okay, thanks - makes sense. I'll update tonight and see how it looks.

There's an "update" icon on the main screen of the FSX software, but you can't click it until you click "edit player" and then log in to your Foresight account. That's where you get course updates as well as FSX updates.

My update icon wouldn't download so they sent me a link to download and it worked fine. Very nice update!! Bluetooth is a great addition. The ability to chose the cloudiness, rain, and time of day is now present and a nice option. Graphics on some courses look better than others, but I think they will update them. I'm hoping they put back in the manual putting, which it seems like there is an option for that. Overall, things are getting better and better!

What do you mean by "put back in manual putting"? Did they change all balls on the green to gimmies? I didn't get around to updating last night and won't if I can no longer choose to putt.

It still has all the putting options that were available last time, so nothing should change. In addition to all the putting options previously there, I saw a manual putting option. The old Foresight software had a putting system whereby it would tell you how far away you were from the pin the green and would enable you to put a number in. So if we were landed on the green 20 feet away you could put a 2. Within 6 feet, we usually gave a 1. It is just another option. It will not replace anything if you don't chose the button. The update is awesome and will allow you to putt

Is anyone using a HMT with the FSX software? I prefer to play on FSX over the old FS1 but I can't get the HMT info. Am I doing something wrong? Thanks

Yes, HMT works great with FSX - data is presented better in FSX over FR1.

On the main FSX scren lower right hand corner does it show a GC2 along with an HMT icon?
When you put a ball in the zone for GC2 and get a green light do you also see a green light on teh HMT?

If yes to the above - are your HMT club stickers in good shape? I find if one peels a bit or dirty it will not pick up club data.

If everyting above is good - call Foresight they will help you.

I broke down and bough the HMT last month. It's awesome! And really opens up FSX! I can't imagine not having both. One thing I'm finding now that the season is in full swing however is my average shot on the course is 10-15% longer than my sim distance. I have to imagine this is due to using tour style balls (chrome sorts or Bridgestone 330s) where as the sim certainly can't tell which type of ball I'm using ? Thoughts?

It could be spin related from hitting off a mat instead of grass. I know my spin is different off the mat. But there might be other reasons the distance is longer - you swing better outdoors, conditions, etc.

Anybody else having trouble in FSX with closest to the pin leaderboards not posting a top 10 score, and not being able to change the distance in the driving range for ctp challenges?

Yep. I've noticed that same bug in fsx
