trying to figure out what is going on. it seems that my driver shots are missed frequently. of course it feels like just the ones that I hit really well it seems to miss - however, that isn't the case as it frequently does catch a few of my shots that I square up and hit 300 yards. However, it never misses my hooks or tops lol. Any ideas on how to fix it missing shots? should I put a spot light on the hitting area? I do just have 4 can lights in the room so its not super bright but it never seems to miss irons.
gc2 keeps missing driver shots

its brand new about 1 month ago...it has always acted the same....was going to contact grant soon but wanted to see if there was something easy...using those tomahawk red white and blue tees and no difference with any of the colors-- infact I haven't found the white one in awhile

First the GC2 really doesn't care what the lighting level is. I have hit shots in virtual darkness and it picks them up. The flash unit puts out IR light via the filter lens. The cameras don't real care about visible light.
As to white tees I use exclusively white tees and it never misses a shot. I do have them in a tee holder so they are not flying around.
I'd check to be sure the GC2 is setting on the same level you are hitting from. I did have the same problem you describe when the unit was sitting on the garage floor and I was hitting off a CCE mat which is something like 1.5 or so inches above floor level. It would pick up balls hit from the mat surface but miss some hit off a tee even though the ball locator light was in the green. It didn't do this if I had it in the metal cradle as this elevates the GC2 a bit.
As previously posted your flash unit may be putting out marginal IR light if it is on the way south. Another possibility is the flash drive electronics is marginal.

ahhhh. that may be the issue. i have mine on the ground and not the same level mat...will try to get it elevated to the same level
thanks so much for the help! and good to know about the light -- I was going to ad a spotlight to it so this saves me a step!
this is exactly why i came here instead of going straight to foresight

Also I have mine up about 1" above my CCE mat and never had any issues - but white club head, white shafts and tees can make the GC2 have misreads. If I remember right it was Grant that told me to raise it up because I was having some issue with my driver but more distance issues I think it helps some.

When you say miss do you mean the dreaded "-------"? I've had this issue too and it is on really well struck drivers mostly. I do have one of the stupid white drivers so I've blamed it on that. I'm looking for a new driver but if it continues I'll see about raising the GC2 up a bit.
