Where or who to buy GC2 from??

Hey all... been reading a bunch in the short time here. Thanks to all those who have been posting. Where/who has best pricing and is good to deal with on a unit. I'm leaning towards a GC2 at the moment and plan to buy shortly. I've also read that a few have picked up refurb units as well.
Any suggestions welcome too... tried to read up here and else where before posting here.
My use... of course some personal use for myself and a high schooler at home and range. But will be getting back into club building and fitting likely soon as well. Would likely start pretty basic in the house/garage then get into a project etc. after we dig in more closer to winter.
On my short list right now to start with would be:
GC2-A
shield
Software??? unsure still
Other suggestions??

You can check the classifieds on this site, search for legitimate sellers on ebay, or go directly from Foresight Sports for a brand new one. Also, Par2Pro sells GC2s, but they are not refurbished. Get TGC as the software, it's only $1,000 instead of the FSX software that is double the price. You can get a protective case for $150 from foresight or par2pro.

Thanks J! At this point I'll likely go ahead and grab a new one for the money then build from there after we get a little time in with it. The case is a must just for peace of mind.

Agree 100% that new is the way to go. Used GC2s have been commanding way too much money for a second hand electronic item that is still currently in production. Especially when a vast majority of the used ones are being sold by people who are totally unfamiliar with the history of the unit they have for sale (pawn shops, etc). New with warranty and known history is the way to go right now.

You can't go wrong with par2pro or direct from foresight. Forsight can give you a better deal on the courses if you go through them. The prices for the GC2 unit is the same. If you just want to play games I'd get TGC but if you want practice data get the FSX and buck up for the HMT. I bought the GC2 first with FSX along with all my other equipment from par2pro this spring to make sure I liked it and then got the HMT last month (direct from Foresight) which has been game changing

U guys are awesome... thanks for the quick replies. I do have pricing now for P2P and FS. I had planned to go without the HMT for now but may grab it after all up front. I'll work on the list of things this weekend and get things ordered after the 4th.

Thought I'd update... ordered the unit from Par2Pro w/FSX today... was very helpful, professional and easy to work with. It'll arrive early next week.

So for now... I have a basic setup and looking forward to getting some time in with it on the range. I'm on hold with a garage/house sim for now but we'll figure out what we're doing there soon. Thanks again for the replies!

Protective cover?? I've read pretty much all the old posts by now. but I'm curious what you have for your covers? Metal vs composite? I went metal thinking it'll offer a tad more protection when a "non golfer" may use it. But I also thought about getting the composite for my use for range trips, ect... I absolutely don't want both but I'm wondering if the metal case will be a pain hauling around (looks bulky)? Thanks again!

I believe that metal raises it up higher for use with thicker mats like CCE. Not a big deal except for a driver on a high tee.

Not that you can't put one in plastic on a wooden block.

The plastic cover is fine. Only problem is you need to remove the covers to fold the unit up for travel. I can't imagine needing the cover outdoors. Indoors it's helpful from balls that bounce off the screen.
