    TGC with GC2

    Hi.

    I have a gc2 and have been reading on the forum that it works with TGC. From what I have read it looks like all I need to do is get the TGC simulator software (around $1k) and a Bluetooth dongle. (Although there is lots of talk of protee software and something called GSX - these are included as part of the TGC software?)

    Is this correct or am I missing something??

      Just buy TGC. It ncludes everything you need. Read up on the install. Follow the instructions very very closely. Get a good dongle. They are cheap.

          Did you purchase the TGC software - which package? Any incompatibility issues (web site says not compatible with GC2. ) Are you satisfied or wish you would have....? Appreciate your comments and feedback - would hate to throw away the money. does it have a driving range? Thanks!

              I bought TGC by itself for $1000 about 9 months ago and use it with my GC2. When you buy it you will get download instructions for the Protee interface and GSX, both of which run in the background. There are lots of driving ranges, but it is a little clunky because you have to set it on auto rewind to use them. Basically you hit a shot and then it takes you to your previous spot (on the tee of the range) and you hit again. It works ok but it doesn't leave the ball tracers up from previous shots to see dispersion patterns, and there isn't a good way of tracking club distances in the software. Despite that, I will say I love TGC, especially the tournaments. Playing on a virtual course is more fun than a virtual driving range anyway I think the warning that it isn't compatible with GC2 is just a legal thing because they aren't paying Foresight for the right to link to their hardware.
