I used to have mine sitting on a piece of MDF to make it the same level as my hitting mat. Is that right, or should it be higher than the mat?

I believe it's the same height as your hitting surface. Friends of mine have theirs this way and it works without issue. At least from what us hacks can tell anyway. -
Mine sits at the same height as the mat on a piece of the same mat. With that setup it can find balls on the mat and those on a 4 inch tee. If you go below the mat then it may have a hard time finding a teed up ballComment

Mine has been the same level as the mat for the last 18 months without any issues. I just wondered if there was an optimal height.
I want to make some sort of slot for it to sit in - so that it's always back in the same place after I move it!Comment
