  • GC2 - TGC - Putting / Spin / Greens

    Hi guys,
    since yesterday i have a GC2 - its awesome! (-:
Could somebody help me with the configuration for putting and spin:

We play on a mat so we decided to increase backspin on irons/wedges to 10 (i think its 10% - 10.000rpm -> 11.000rpm) in GSX.
    is it right?
We change it because in real golf with real gras we have about 1000rpm more spin on the ball.

In my opinion putting with a simulator sucks because its to difficult to calculate up and down and the distance.
First we tried the Gimmi rule, but without putting, its boring.
Could you tell me what i can do in GSX to make putting very easy.
We only want to have fun on the green, shouldnt be realistic when we play :-)

Last question: greenstimp 6 (config) and firmenss 2 (config) are the lowest values?
No configuration in GSX will overrite the config file or?

    Thanks and best regards
    Philip

Putting forgiveness in GSX will make more putts go in but putting is really good withe TGC GC2 combo as it is. You can also increase spin in GSX to make the greens less firm. Also a bad idea IMO. GSX setting are sepperate than TGC settings. Slow greens plus slowing down putting speed in GSX will make the greens super slow. I suggest you zero out everything in GSX and set your firmness and speed in the TGC settings.

ok. i read firmness 0 is lowest possible value. i will have a try.

Sometimes i've got 12000 RPM on my wedge and ball is rolling 5-10 yards on the green.
in RIL i play with a small backspin on our greens. my handicap 0.5.

if i increase backspin in GSX will my balls flying shorter cause of the more spin?
      lower spin = longer carry
      higher spin = shorter carry

what is correct? if i increase backspin then the carry distance getting shorter in TGC?
in RIL of course, i think the backspin rate only will be shown in TGC but has no impact on ballflight / flightdistance.
        What are you thinking?

Lower spin longer carry is correct.

I think you want low firmness and leave spin alone.

For me, I want the spin measured to be transfered to the game without alteration. I wouldn't want extra spin added as a percentage, especially if it affects the ball flight in the air.
