Foresight won't sell GC2 without either FR1 or FSX?

    Foresight won't sell GC2 without either FR1 or FSX?

    I'm interested in buying a new GC2 but Foresight won't sell a GC2 without their software. Is there any work around on that?

    If I am forced into buying either FR1 or FSX, from everything I read I should save my money and buy a FR1, yes?

      If Foresight are forcing you to buy the GC2 with software, why not buy it from someone like Par2Pro, who will just sell it on it's own?
      I've never heard of them forcing software with it before though... as you can use it standalone, or with the iPad app.

      I bought Protee / TGC for mine about 20 months ago when I first got my GC2. I then bought FSX about 6 weeks ago. In all honesty I think FSX is a much better software package than TGC, and I haven't turned TGC on since. I'm definitely in the minority around here as everyone else thinks TGC is amazing. I think its down to the fact that FSX is specifically simulator software, and all the courses are optimised for playing with real clubs. TGC was originally a PC / console game that allows input from a simulator... so a lot of the courses aren't optimised for playing with real clubs.
      OK... the graphics aren't quite as good, but I feel it plays better and had more options.

          Yeah the salesman said he couldn't sell it without one software or the other. I was considering buying it as a standalone just to get quality data as I'm not sure simulated golf is essential. That said, I guess it might be a bit more fun.

          One of the biggest things holding me back is that I'm a lefty and my stepson is a righty, which sounds like a huge pain. Oh, and the price...

              Strange. Mine arrived today (UK) and I just told them I'd be using it with the iPad app and they were happy with that. In fact I somehow managed to blag a protective shield and a pelican case out of them free of charge as well.

                  This is BS. Tell him you'll buy the iPad software. Done! I bought mine directly from Foresight and I only purchased the GC2. He is lying to get more commission.
