Hey folks!

I've enjoyed reading a lot of your posts, they were very useful in select a monitor. I ended up going with the CG2. I don't plan on hooking it up to any software anytime soon, b/c we have Apples at home and I need to buy a new PC. I purchased the unit more for improvement than sim play, before marriage I played to about 7-8 handicap, post-marriage/kids I'm currently around a 11-12

I started out hitting a series of 6 irons and PWs and the carry yardage seems to be off a good 30-40. I spoke with foresight technical service and based on the few screen shots of the unit, they thought things checked out. Encouraged me to go to a range to validate, but I'm in Minnesota and I think most ranges are closing/closed for the season.

My dilemma is this: Something seems off and I'm considering returning the unit. I'm very confident that I have more carry distance than 130 with a 6 iron (normally 155-165) nor a 65 carry with a PW (normally pretty spot on at 100). The tech spoke a lot about indoor bias, which made sense to me. I'm not a hard swinger (low 90's with a driver... on a warm, flexible day).

I'm very new to the ideas of ball speed/spin, launch angle, etc... still learning. I'd appreciate your feedback on the data below I recorded with a 6 iron. Not sure if it matter, but my club was a cobra mp pro. #1 was a little fat, shots #2 and #3 were pure (for me).

#1 Ball Speed: 95, Launch 23.0, Push/Pull 1.5R, Side Spin 0, Back Spin 5649, Carry 127.
#2 Ball Speed: 99, Launch 22.3, Push/Pull 0.7R, Side Spin 281L, Back Spin 5968, Carry 133.

There are many reasons all the way from the mat, ball , swing changes indoors etc.

My guess is there is nothing wrong with your GC2. I had a guy come to our showroom and pulled out a 7 iron. He hit it about 135 yards and then insisted it wasn't accurate. I then used the same 7 iron and hit it 175 yards. He no longer questioned the accuracy. But he was a little deflated. To truly know how far you hit the ball you should use a GPS app on the course and that will give you an accurate distance to a yard or two. I use "Golfshot". It is an awesome app. But be prepared to be deflated on how far you actually hit the ball.

I might have to try golfshot..... I usually rangefinder it back to the tee box..... usually the garbage can or ball wash. The GC2 is very accurate.... The first time I was swinging a little too hard with a 7 iron.... the ball started to draw a bit.... I thought that it was mis reading the shot..... sure enough, when I swung that hard on the course.... along comes a nice little draw.

This happens to a lot of people myself included. Keep swinging. It'll get better.

Take the GC2 to your local outdoor driving range, and see if the actual shots match the GC2.
Find a flag that's 120yds, and hit a wedge at it. You should be able to figure out roughly how far past / before the flag is to get a good idea of actual distance you've hit. Check the GC2. Try the same with 150yds and 180.
Its not going to give you a 100% accurate comparison, but it'll definitely tell you if you're more than 5-10yds out.

I've taken my GC2 to my lessons before and set it up against the instructors Trackman 4. The difference between the 2 (with the Trackman set to wind OFF) is pretty much nothing.

Actually this will most likely help your hcp. To really know how far you hit the ball.
Those numbers seem correct in the flightscope trajectory optimizer. It's a good tool to check for yourself.

Whats the best protee interface to use with the gc2?? As some of you already know Im getting a gc2 with my protee and tgc sofrware next week and I wanted he best possible senario. some guys say 3.07g others say 3.06g. which is what I'm currently running? I read there's some problems with the 3.10 with gc2. does someone have the link to download the latest version of GSX?? so I can install that as well... Thank you...
