    GSX Status Input Not Connected

I have TGC running using GC2 with the usual Pro Tee and GSX set up. It's been working great for a few months but today it is not working and showing the status input as "not connected" for the first time. I read the threads and common advice is to move the GS2 close to the PC. It's already only 3 feet away, and worked from there usually, but I moved it to a few inches away anyway. But it still doesn't connect. I've tried rebooting several times. The computer did a PC update right before so perhaps that caused the problem. Or maybe just a coincidence.

Any advice on what I can try next to get it working would be appreciated. Thanks very much!

    To clarify. It says "disconnected".

This is a Bluetooth issue. Disconnect the GC2 and then pair from new. Check the ports and enter them in GSX

Thanks for your help. It does seem to be the Bluetooth. It said "driver error". I was able to fix it and sure enough now the GC2 shows as "paired" with the adapter. But it's still not working unfortunately. I've gone through all the steps and everything seems ok. The one thing that does stand out in the instructions is that in the pictures of the instructions it shows the inbound and outbound coms as being different. One is com3 and one is com4. In my case, both are showing as com3 and I wonder if that is the problem? Outside of that, I'm lost as to why it's not working. The GC2 says paired so there doesn't seem to be a reason not to work. Any help would be greatly appreciated!!!

Make sure you have the correct port (inbound or outbound, it wasn't intuitive). For me the last time I had trouble, I changed the port in the pro tee interface to match the gsx port and then it connected. It didn't say anything about it in the instructions but I was getting frustrated and tried changing that one too, then bam it connected and hasn't been an issue since.

if you have a pending windows update it can do weird things too.

Thanks. I this did happen in fact right after a windows update. But I don't think the update is pending. It restarted and updated. Anyway, how do I figure out what the correct port is? When I go through the steps, both the in and out say it's com3. So that's what I select. That's the same com as always in fact. It was com3 before when it worked fine. Here's another fact - the instructions say you can check the device manager to confirm the port. But when I do that, under Bluetooth, looking at my adapter in the list, while the instructions say it should say "(com3)" or whatever, mine is blank. It shows the Bluetooth adapter (in device manager) but there's no com indication. No idea if that means anything but figure I should mention it.

You might need to add a port. There should be outgoing and incoming. It's finicky.

It really is finicky, isn't it! Dumb question - how do I add a port?

I can't remember what comes next but it should be relatively easy at this point. Remember to go back to the com ports tabs to verify what port is assigned for your connection. It will have changed most likely.

EDIT: While it can seem finicky to setup the connection, once it connects its rock solid and I have had no problems. I have only had this issue maybe 2-3 times and usually it seems to be after a windows update or while one is pending.

I had the same issue after a windows update......NIGHTMARE!! Long story short ended up completely reinstalling WIndows 7 Pro. and reinstalling all the drivers. Not cptr savy enough to explain , but also reinstalled all drivers too. The Bluetooth driver was not working no matter what I did. The computer guys at the company where I bought the cptr walked me through it......I no longer allow auto updates,........
