I just received my HMT. Does anyone who has one know whether the club path reading is really club path or is it swing direction? I ask because the following doesn't make sense as to how the ball spins left on heel strike with club face open to target (and path since path is 0). I think I understand it starting left due to the heel strike...but everything I know about ball flight laws tells be this ball should curve right, not left...unless club path on the foresight is really swing direction and not path (which would be right of the swing direction given the downward angle of attack).

My understanding and I could be wrong is the path is relative to the direction the GC2 is pointing. Just like the ball. Was this recorded with a single dot or a full dot pattern? A toe up could explain the left direction in this case. It's pretty minor though. When you start seeing numbers that don't look right start looking at the lie angles because they maybe the cause.

Full dot capture. Does anyone know what f-axis is in the IPad app? I occasionally see a positive f-axis with a negative spin-axis.

I have an in to out swing path with an open face to swing path and a centre strike and hit a draw. I put that down to the fact the figures are giving just before impact. By the time you factor in closure rate the club face will be closed by the time the ball leaves the face. Therefore as a fast swinger and a high closure rate the face will always be more closed when the ball leaves the face than the figures state in the HMT

I’m curious about this as well. Can the camera capture swing direction? Swing plane and swing direction is something that I’m wondering about if camera could capture this. Swing direction has a lot of correlation to the club path and attack angle so I’m assuming this can be calculated relatively simply if GC doesn’t have it. I am also wondering about F-axis definition as well. Closing Rate is definitely something the radar doesn’t have which could be a valuable tool for instance. I just met a PGA Tour professional and it seemed like he focused a lot on Swing Direction so I’m sure that should be a must parameter for any launch monitor.Originally posted by onehandicap View PostI just received my HMT. The HMT and quad read everything including path. Rate of closure is cool too. I believe f axis iss the ball not the club.My Courses:

club path is vector direction on impact. swing direction corelate with angle of attack and swing plane.
