  • After Windows update FS1 no longer pairs with GC2

I'm hoping you guys can help me trouble shoot this. After yesterdays Windows 10 update, FS1 loaded on that laptop will no longer pair with my GC2. I don't think its a Bluetooth issue with the GC2, as it shows up as an available device in the Bluetooth screen of FS1 once turned on. Specifically, the issue that I'm running into is that when I choose to connect with my GC2 in the FS1 Bluetooth screen it sits on "connecting to GC2" forever.

Has anyone else run into this? Have you figured out a fix?

I'd call Foresight but last time they wanted $500 from me to be considered a customer and I doubt they'd look at this any differently.

    Thanks,

    Bob

I haven't hooked up fs1 yet but I could have sworn he manual said Bluetooth wasn't supported for fs1 and to use USB.

When did the update come out?
I've been offshore for the last 2 week, but the last time I tried to use FSX I had a hell of a time getting the GC2 to connect to it. I got it eventually (can't remember what I did in the end), but I haven't tried it again since.

Yeah it's FR1 not FS1, sorry about that. As to the Bluetooth not being supported, the 15 or so games I played previously were all run on Bluetooth straight through the game.

Good to know! The quick install manual PDF, said Bluetooth was not supported at the time even though it was an option in the menu. I likely have an old version of the manual.

Just tried mine a minute ago, and it still doesn't pair.
I have sent Foresight a message asking if they know if any reasons why. Although I can connect via USB, it's not very convenient as my PC is behind me.

"FSE Support" (I assume to be Foresight tech support) helped me out. Removing the device and re-pairing was the key to getting it working again. Here are the steps:

              - Please go into the devices and printers section of the control panel and right click on the GC2 icon, this will allow you to select delete and remove the GC2 from the list. Please use the guide below to make a fresh connection between the GC2 and the PC.

              Bluetooth connection Guide.

              1. Turn on the GC2
              2. Go to Start Menu (on your computer) > Devices and Printers
              3. Then Select the [Add Device] button on the upper left of the window
              4. A window will open and populate with the available devices to connect to, when the GC2 is available in the list select to pair with it.
              5. You must select [Use Devices Pairing Code] in order to connect correctly. Pairing code is “0000” (Four Zeros). The Device will now be locatable in the devices list.
              6. Now open the software and select options. Enter the password” fss01011” and then locate Bluetooth on the bottom right menu.
              7. Select the Foreisight_GC2 with the correct Serial Number and then connect by clicking on the [Connect] button.
              8. If there is no list of GC2 units select the [Refresh] button.
              9. Once the GC2 is connected you will see a Connected Status and you are now ready to play.

              - Please try using Windows update to ensure all your drivers are updated to the latest version.

(Please ensure you have the latest graphical drivers installed as well, this has been known to resolve graphical issues which can occur when updating your operating system.)
