  • Used GC2 Probs

Just recently purchased a used GC2..once I received it I turned it on to find that the screen is blank..I'm trying to do a return with the seller but he seems to be dragging his feet with doing the refund..I didn't know if anyone has experienced similar probs with there GC2 and know if it could be fixed for a reasonable price..The green light does come on when trying to pick up the ball..so I tried using the FS1 software anyway to see if it would work..I connected the GC2 via Bluetooth and took a swing to see if it would register the ball and had no luck...prob a shot in the dark but i'm hoping someone out there knows of an easy fix...thanks

Was the seller a forum member?

No he was a ebay seller that he bought off of. MOTO contacted me to help with this but its not good and he will have to send back to seller and get his money back somehow as the costs to repair would be crazy which he should not have to do with a recent buy. I told him to get his money back and come talk with me as i have units available that have been gone through by foresight and are solid machines with no issues and are available from a forum member.

From what aeroburner says , just put in a claim with Paypal asap. Shouldn't be a problem, regardless of the seller "dragging his feet", paypal will make you whole.

I would do it ASAP too. It will put a hold on the money until a resolution is reached.

You can try opening up the unit and disconnecting the battery. In previous firmware versions I had the GC2 hang in various conditions where nothing would work. Removing and reconnecting the battery will stop whatever is currently running.. Just hitting the on/off switch does noting because it is really not a hard power disconnect, just a port input to the hardware. If you do get it working then immediately upgrade to the latest firmware on the Foresight site. It is 4.0.something. I haven't had a hang since loading this latest firmware..

When I bought mine used I sent it in to Foresight to have the bluetooth repaired, new flash, and updated firmware. When it came back it would occasionally have a blank screen, and the light would change from red to green like you describe. I did not have FR1 so I don't know if it would have worked with that or not. It only happened sometimes, and I could usually physically close and re-open the GC2 itself and it would come back on, which made me think something was loose inside. I had to send it back to them and they repaired it, but they did not charge me because I had just sent it to them which they said gave me a 1 year warranty. It has been working fine ever since. So I think it could be repaired, but with their new $500 customer entry fee you are probably better off filing with Paypal to get your money back.

agree on this it is fixable but MOTO also had other issues on this unit that are not talked about in the thread he shared with me and all the items he described on issues would not be fixable without some $$$$$$
