I know this topic has been discussed, but I am looking to purchase a GC2 soon and want to get the facts straight to make sure I do not get taken advantage of. I would like to run the GC2 with TGC and really do not care about having FSX. That being said the people at foresight say there is a $1000 fee if i do not purchase the FSX so they can "calibrate" the machine to work with a custom software. I just want some clarification and do not want to pay the $1000 if not needed. Thanks for any advice

That sounds like a sales guy wants to "calibrate" $1000 dollars out of your wallet and into his. There is no magical calibration needed to use a GC2 with TGC at least none that foresight is going to do.
You may now need to pay $500 for the privilege of buying parts and service from foresight. Assuming your unit is working properly , there is no reason you need to deal with them any time soon. Hopefully the current kerfuffle blows over by the time you need their services.Comment

It's a luxury tax to dissuade you from using TGC. Buy one from Aeroburner. He had the ones he bought tuned up by Foresight. There's no calibration needed. The GC2 doesn't connect to custom software. It just takes the numbers from the GC2 Bluetooth output.My Courses:
