    Hitting surface impacting back spin

A general question to the experienced GC2 users in the crowd. Do you find that the mat your're hitting off of impacts spin? And if so how?

A little fat leads to a big decrease in spin and distance on a CCE.

Google "mats vs grass trackman" and then judge for yourself.

I'd agree with these numbers, it seems that hitting off a mat generates Lower spin, and thus flyers. Is there a mat out there, the divot action perhaps, which more closely replicates grass spin numbers?

i would hate to say it but probably the fiberbuilt would be a good mat to use.. i really am liking the tee strike i got from synlawn so far i do not have experience other then the fiberbuilt and this new hitting mat

This is exactly why I bought one!

So does anyone have other suggestions for mats that will give spin numbers more inline with what you see of grass? I have the CCE and i would say it's like 1000-2000 rpm lower than balls hit of grass.
Would really like to have correct yardages when practicing.

I have the CCE and my spin number on normal shots is the same /close to as grass. I only see a decrease in spin on fat shots.

It is good that you find it accurate. I think maybe different swing types get's different results.
We have actually tried on course with my cce strip and gc2 hitting an 8 iron from fairway to a green.
Of the mat it would go too long everytime (with less spin and higher launch)
I get the same results from range mats, almost like a semi flyer.
It's not the end of the world but it would be great if i could find a mat that gets me same distances.

The divot action looks good. Anyone tried that?

I have a divot action mat and i like it! but i like it because it reduces the likelihood of elbow/wrist/shoulder pain from hitting on mats versus grass. I am less worried about indoor spin #s than I am being able to hit a lot of balls pain free...

True strike is another option that looks good on paper.

                  Any thoughts on that mat?

Here's a good article. It pretty much says the same thing as you. lol. I'll be paying closer attention in the spring.

I purchased the reel feel golf mat and I was hitting close to 200 balls a day. I now have some serious tennis elbow that I am fighting. Finally feeling better after about 8 months of rest and therapy. I used to hit that many balls at the course on a regular basis and never felt this pain. It is a good mat, but I think you can overdo it with any mat regardless of the claims. I will be getting the divot action insert next to see if it helps.

Also if you are into diy , check out the diy gel mat, I went to this from cce and nowhere near the elbow discomfort I've had before.
