  • CG3D Mevo plus disconnects?

    Good morning
Just wondering if anyone has had any issues with CG3D and their Mevo Plus disconnecting. I have had this software for about 2 months and its been great up until last weekend when I had some friends over for a night of golf. The "Ready" status went to "Not Ready" about 10 times. Each time I check my PC and the Mevo was still connected, but not showing up in CG3D and the LED light on the mevo went from red (armed) to green (standby). I have the Sleep setting on the mevo turned off so it shouldn't go to sleep at any time. I would turn the Mevo off, wait 30 seconds and turn it back on and reconnect......it would work again, but then disconnect after some more holes. I havent had this issue using CG3D yet, so just trying to see if any others were running into the same problems and what you did to fix the problem. I run the mevo plus off an external battery as well.

This happened the day I updated from Windows 10 to Windows 11. To eliminate Windows 11 as the culprit, I reverted back to Windows 10, and ran a bench test essentially. After 2 hours, I got the same disconnect to which I restarted the mevo plus and back in business. Now we are sitting at around 2 hours and 30 minutes and counting to see how many more disconnects we get and why.

    Any ideas??

    Thanks

I have been seeing more and more complaints recently about random issues like this one. Have you tried spraying water around the hitting area and checking if static is interfering with the radar? Just a shot in the dark that's easy and quick to check. Please do not use a water hose lol just a spray bottle and dampen the area.

I did a bench test, so hooked it up at my kitchen table and ran it as if we were playing a round. In 4 hours, it disconnected 3 times. There would be no static on a kitchen table, so I can rule that one out in this case.

I do not think the testing methodology is sound but I guess to each their own.

Have you contacted Flighscope about the issue? We are a great resource but there is no one that knows the product better than the manufacturer. Flightscope's support is top-notch and I think you would have the greatest chance of success with them. I bought my unit second hand and they still provided excellent service to me.

I have contacted them yes. Unfortunately, they blame CG3D, for disconnects while playing CG3D. They blame E6 for disconnects while playing E6. I really enjoy the Mevo Plus, and realize it is a fairly priced SIM so I dont expect miracles, I was just seeing if anyone had similar issues.

As for the bench test, why would you think the methodology is not sound? Its a radar unit, connected to my laptop. In that time there were disconnects with ZERO static.

Not too many CG3D guys on here is there?

          Thanks

Testing outside the parameters of normal use sometimes gives false positives for a countermeasure. This was not that case for you which is great. That sucks with Flightscope holding the software companies responsible. Sorry, this is happening to you but it looks like another user below is having the same issue so that rules out user error.

I have the exact same issue
both Creative golf 3D and TGC2019 disconnects since .19 firmware upgrade
          Happens when in putting mode
          both windows 10 and 11
          Same thing from flightscope
both software packages must be faulty now
Mevo still connected in windows but disconnected in sim software
          getting nowhere
maybe .20 upgrade will make it work again
