For anyone like myself, I bought the Garmin and wanted to build a sim of items around a similar price point. Might sound silly, but a $1200 mat and a $600 launch monitor just seems out of balance?
After going down this rabbit hole, I realize that the launch monitor could almost be the cheapest part depending on what your end goal or data requirements are.
Another requirement of my "sim" (we should probably loosely call it that?) is that it needed to be something I could quickly take up and down. I park where the sim is located, so it needs to pop up and come down quickly. I wouldn't say mounting a projector is out of the question, but spending $800+ on a "low end" short throw projector for a make shift, sim setup, which I have never tried was out of the cards.
Found this YouTube video on a recommendation from a friend - He covers the $200 or less projectors - The winner at $200 or less is usually on sale at Amazon for $70-$150. Always has flash sales. Projector works great and I just throw in on a chair behind me and it works perfectly.
