I've had my Garmin for almost a year and was wondering if anyone is having inaccurate readings for their driver? Irons seem to be pretty good, but I'm getting really short readings based on what I'm seeing out on course.

Not accurate driver readings?

I'm going into my 3rd winter with the Garmin and the device has always lost accuracy with longer clubs. For me, it's more a matter of inaccurate spin readings than it is distance. I researched this device before purchasing it, read about this issue, and have tried to keep expectations reasonable.
In the end, this was a very affordable simulator and has been fantastic for playing rounds of indoor golf. It's probably the best $600 I've ever spent on golf. That said, it isn't a Skytrac+.Last edited by JonMA1; 11-01-2024, 02:56 AM.

I have always had my Garmin read my shots short with all my clubs, this happens in HTH, Awesome golf and GSPro. For example IRL i hit my 7 iron about 143-146 carry, but in the game I was getting about 130ish carry. My driver carries about 220 in real life but in gspro it carried about 180 which is way off. All my other clubs were similarly short with the longer the club having more of a discrepancy.
I tried different things like raising the Garmin higher, using balls with stickers, using RCT balls, messing around with spin multipliers in my connector (I use the roxor connector), changing the elevation. while changing the elevation had some difference and I could get it close to outside but I would have to set it to 8000ft. When I played courses on the east coast and used their elevation it went short again.
What I finally tried was changing the distance from the Garmin to the ball in the settings. Even though my hitting area is 6.5ft from the Garmin I set the distance in the configuration to 7.5ft and that seemed to give me more accurate results. My 7 iron distance seemed to jump 8-10 yards more carry, my longer clubs also seemed to have gained some distance too. not as much as I hoped but closer to real life.
maybe that will work for someone else too
