Hi- I am new to this forum... I am looking to buy my first golf simulator, been doing the research and for my budget of $3-5k- I keep coming back to Skytrak and the 3 different packages of Home, PerfectBay and Retractable. Couple of key questions; Is it worth it hitting into a screen vs a net? Better Brands for the $$ than Skytrak that I should look into? Thanks!

I love my SkyTrak. at the price point it is very accurate with carry distances and overall shot shape. If you are trying to simulate playing, then I would encourage you go with a screen. If you plan to just use it as a driving range software, then a net would probably be serviceable.
Gunghogolf has a great blueprint to build you own custom enclosure. If you can handle a little DIY you can save a good chunk of money and customize the size to fit your needs. I built one to be 9’ x 12’ x 2.5’ in my garage for full simulation and driver purposes, and one that is 8’ x 11’ x 4’ for my basement that doubles as an entertainment center. You should be able to build one in the $6-$700 range that will look great.
