  • Finding courses online - I think I created something great

Hey all. Not just another online directory. I got tired of friends asking me where can I find a course list and what's the course really called and there being no good way to browse, save, share. So I built one. I started by just doing it for my friends, but then I couldn't stop, and it's grown into something I think is getting pretty damn good. Search by name, location, designer, whatever. You can save favorites and track what you've played. Please let me know what you think, give me suggestions, tear it to shreds, and sign up to save your own courses. Following me on Twitter would help. If this doesn't get much traction, then it will die as another side project of mine, but I'd love to keep it rolling.

This is Great ! Useful and love having the pictures to help decide which courses look interesting to play. I'm gonna figure out how to use this to keep track. Thank-you so much!

very impressive and time consuming effort but it does bring together in place so much GSPro information. Thank you for the (substantial) effort. One thing I'd find helpful would be allowing players to provide a 1-5 rating only after playing the course entirely. Eventually, we'd get user-ranked 'best courses'. However, it could be the that 'most hearted' provides the same functionality over time. Another thing to consider is to establish the 'newness' of the current course release. I course designed/released 4 years ago doesn't look as good (due largely to graphics engine capability) than a course released using the newest tools. Maybe OPCD version used to do the design would substitute for release date. Some of the world's best courses were released early in GSPro, but simply because they were early they aren't as visually interesting as those done more recently because software has improved, no fault of the designer at all. Eventually, designers will have to take credit for up-to-date makeovers of early, famous, courses; so dates or release version might be helpful.
