  • R-Motion Showing an Open Club Face but Ball Showing Left (Hook) Sidespin?

I just setup R-Motion with TGC / Skytrak to get the extra clubface / path data integrated into TGC.

However, I'm not sure things are correct as I often see an open clubface with hook sidespin... I didn't think that was possible as I always assumed the clubface had to be closed to produce a sidespin to the left (counter-clockwise).

Is this something that is wrong with the R-Motion or maybe even my setup as I had read it is super important to have the clubface square at address (which I think I do) but these results are a bit wonky right now?

You can certainly hook the ball with an open club face in relation to the target. In fact, this is what you want if you are trying to hit a nice push draw. The hook spin is a result of a club face that is left/closed to path. What is your path?
