  • Play Button Stays Gray

I just fired up my sim to play this morning and when I log into the rmotion app all three boxes are checked green and everything is good to go, but the box at the bottom right you click on that says play is usually red and it stays gray. So I cannot get into tgc to play. I have had this system for about a year now and have never had any problems. Any help would be much appreciated.

Open Task manager and make sure you have only one instance of server.exe running in your computer. If you see multiple instances, close both the APP and the game and start again.

I went to task manager..restarted.. and tried a few other things. Nothing worked so I left it alone then came back 4 hours later fired it up and everything worked just fine. No clue why, but it worked.

Glad to hear you got it going. I've had this problem from time to time. Usually it will just fix itself, especially if you open and close the app. Sometimes I have to pull the dongle or restart my machine. It's Bluetooth; there will be blood.

Fired up the sim today and exact same thing is happening...all 3 boxes are checked green but I cannot click on the play button. No clue what is causing this.

After messing around with all sorts of things I found out what I think I need to do. For some reason now every time I start up now this occurs. If I go into task manager and force close tgc.exe then go into the tgc app and click on start the server then go back into the rmotion app and it works every time. No clue why this is happening, but this seems to fix it.

Had the gray play button tonight after starting all over. When the dongle was finally seen by the Rmotion app i could not click play. When the dongle isn’t seen I can click play. I don’t have multiple server.exe or Rmotion instances running. This is a Rmotion app issue. I am going to try your steps tonight. Getting frustrated.

I have had this happen too, all I do is close rmotion and start it back up. So far every time that has allowed me to "play" after. Two launches...annoying...but works (thus far)

We have a software upgrade in the works that address this issue. It is something to do with Server.exe existing more than once and creating confusion.

Rapsodo any further along on this? Wanted to get a few range balls in tonight but instead I've been messing around with it trying to see the dongle. No matter what I do, it what give me a green check mark. Just used it last night with not one problem.

Jb50 we have a new version out. Could you please reach out to support @ rmotiongolf so that they can send you this version and see if that works. We are actively testing with a few people.

                        I will do that. Thanks.

Not sure if it would help but if it truly is just a Server.exe file hanging up and having multiple ones running...a REBOOT should help. In a pinch it's always good to do this after exhausting a few thoughts prior.

I'm sure a fix in software would be much appreciated by many. I have not had this issue much at all. An occasional no-read where the sensor must crash or similar...a simple RESTART DEVICE red button has done the trick...then I go right back to the shot I had in TGC and all is good.

I did reboot 2x’s. The 2nd time I removed the dongle then reboot and put it back in after the computer was back up. This seemed to work because then Rmotion recognized it. However, when I went to hit shot’s, I could only get a blue light on the sensor. Tried restart, moving sensor far away so it would lose connectivity. Checked server.exe and saw that now two were running. Closed them and restarted Rmotion and now it wouldn’t see the dongle again closed it a couple of more times and it finally connected and I was able to hit some balls.

I have to start Rmotion twice before I can hit play and if I check server.exe isn’t running multiple instances. Second time always works.
