  • Rmotion distances

I’m having distance issues with all my clubs and not alot of differences between a 8 & 5 iron. Ive changed loft and length of the clubs on my player and still not accurate and most shots are saying club face is open 10 degrees when it’s not. Rapsodo has helped me but nothing’s working. Has anyone had these issues. I see people on YouTube just step up and hit the ball with no issues. Any ideas?

Its so bad I can’t even begin to play a game. Thanks.

Are you making certain to hold the clubhead squarre and still for at least a full second before starting the swing?

Is your sensor perpendicular to your club face?

What I did was "fake the numbers" a bit until it began to show me the numbers I know I hit the ball. So even if a 6 iron needed length of say 35 or something crazy it would still go about 180 yards. (Which is what I hit that club). As for the 10 degree open...not sure. I think it's a bit off sometimes for me. I come over the top most of the time (slightly) but I can't say that I ever hit anything but inside out on rmotion. It's consistent although not accurate. You may fiddle with the position (rotation) of the sensor and see if that helps. Remember as said above this device requires a square setup to a square return to be "accurate" Then it just needs a "path" to apply that too. The rest is mathmatical. So a player that sets up open and swings to a closed face....or sets up with a closed face and then returns with a sqaure face it will show OPEN. Even if in the real world you hit a dead straight shot.... It's all in the deviation of start to impact...

I'm confused...you say when you use r-motion your 8 iron goes 150 but you say you don't have an r-motion yet? If you are using an r-motion device and your hitting your 8 iron in TGC 150 but want it to go 160 you can go into the Club Settings of R-Motion software and adjust the distance the sensor is from your club head and the loft of your clubs. My Taylor Made clubs are "strong" and needed to be adjusted at min.... but then I adjusted the sensor distance to "tweak" what I wanted to see distance wise Later I went to Golf Galaxy and got on their club head simulator and measured my 8 iron club head speed it was 91mph...confirmed on R-Motion later with new settings.

ok so if your total IRL is 160 and r-motion distance is 150 (carry) then most likely your total r-motion is near 160 right?
It's like comparing oranges and apples if you dont give us the same input numbers.
            What is your IRL Carry?
            What is you R-motion Carry?

I'ts hard getting the distances to conform exactly when measuring total distance because IRL you probably play on softer fairways(less roll) most of the times and windy conditions etc. If you are within 10% its great.

I'd just conform the numbers to what you want to see. If it's CARRY then make it carry...if it's total distance..then that will depend on the different course setups you play. It's not going to be super accurate all the time, although I am impressed once you get things dialed in a bit how much it feels like golf!
