There seems to be a few apps now that use the camera to calculate ball speed, launch angle and distance. Wouldn't it be great if they made part of the App to use the camera to detect LA and ball speed? Seems would be a lot more accurate. LA would probably be way closer than what the club sensor can guess.

I'm not going to lie, I think this idea is pretty awesome!! What would be even better would be to be able to add on a camera like this (https://tectectec.com/products/xpro2/). Having a permanent camera would be key though. For an addition cost you now get real ball speeds, LA, and the ability detect fat/thin shots. R-motion golf is already good at detecting face angle & direction. The combo could be pretty amazing.
R-motion - what do you guys think? Just make sure golfun2 and I get to beta test it first!
Modular Golf Sim - The more you add the better the experience!!!

Yeah any external camera would be awesome because it would free up your iPhone to watch data.Originally posted by colinjm18 View PostGood idea but is that not how protee works so would it not be easier to integrate protee cameras
If you could use the front facing camera on the iPhone you could just have a couple large stats displayed so you could view it on the ground without moving it. Also if it used the rear camera on the phone you wouldn't be able to see the screen, but other Launch Monitor Apps read the stats outlloud through the speakers or a bluetooth earpiece.
Someone has to integrate both Phone Camera and sensor together. Also the standalone camera would be amazing.

terrific idea. But I have missed those apps, which are they and are they really validated as accurate?Originally posted by golfun2 View PostThere seems to be a few apps now that use the camera to calculate ball speed, launch angle and distance.
