  • Can you hit a bad shot on the Rmotion?

I finally have my Simulator set up. I have the Rmotion up an running and have played 2 rounds. I like it a lot...it will be great fun with the wife and my friends that come over, very happy with it for the price.

Can you hit a bad shot with the Rmotion? I am a 17 HC so I have a tendency to hit a wayward shot from time to time. On the TGC round I didn't miss a fairway with the driver and the iron shots would go a little right or left but generally pretty straight.

My question is this. Can you slice a ball into the neighboring fairway with Rmotion?

I think it does a pretty good job of predicting the flight of the ball. I took it to the local PGA store and used it while using the GC2 in their hitting bay and while it was working it was pretty darn accurate with ball flight. Of course the starting path was off with the R-Motion showing almost all my shots starting to the left of target due to closed club face at impact and the GC2 would show these shots as starting to the right and drawing back in. With my Driver I normally try to hit a slight fade and felt R-Motion does an excellent job of picking this up as well. I actually think it does better with a left to right shot than a right to left shot, as all my right to left shots with it are left to more left

As far as game play I have hit it pretty far right into the thick rough with my Driver/3-Wood (never into the next fairway though) but all my irons are left and gets worse left the more lofted the iron I am using.

Just out of curiosity how long have you had yours and are you using it daily? Inside/outside both? Thanks!

Thank you for the response, it is greatly appreciated.

I have only hit inside and probably will stick to that at this point. I have probably hit 150 shots total...with about 15 being from the driver. The fade is my normal shot pattern and it does show that in the gameplay. I just feel like it is going straighter than it should. I would have guessed that at least one or two of my shots would have been in right rough at a minimum and more likely in deep rough/trees.

On the driving range app (on mobile device) I hit my 7 iron 15 times. The distances varied based on contact which was nice but nearly all of them were within a couple of yards from the centerline. That is not like me at all...over 15 shots at least 5 would be 10 yards on either side of the center line.

It is still very early as I just set it up this past weekend, I was just curious if it would show shots that are completely errant and end up in crazy spots like my real game.

      Thanks again!

It does not know where on the club face you strike the ball, which has an impact on where it is going to go. So it will be kinder in that respect that you will not heel a ball or toe it. If your swing is the same, and contact point during the swing is the same and the club face is the same, it will go straight regardless of where you hit the ball, unlike in real life.

I think that is how it works, but I could be wrong. I know you can hit the mat and not even connect with the ball and you still get a flight path.
