Rmotion App distances way off??

I have been using the Rmotion with the Golf Club software on my laptop and find the driver clubhead speed and total distances are pretty accurate, however on the android app the clubhead speed is slightly low and the distance is way off, for example I hit the driver with clubhead speed which says 98mph (i'm usually around 105) and even on the shots right out of the middle (as good as I can hit them) the app says the distance is between 171- 207yards max?? (real life carry for me with driver is between 255 and 272yards and on the game simulation it shows this as true also which is good)
The irons seem way short on distance compared to swing speed and ball speed too for example with a 5iron it shows swing speed of 80-84mph which is about right for me as I have single length irons, (I made sure the clips are measured and set up correctly too) ball speed is showing 116-118mph and yet the distances are only showing anything random from 131-160yards on the best struck shots? which again is way off of real numbers or even the numbers on 'The Golf Club' simulation.

I want to use this app to for practice at home in a net but the numbers are so off its almost unusable which is a shame. Is anyone having any success with the app? or is this still work in progress?The app has just been updated too would be really handy if this app could be at least as accurate as the game.

Thanks for the feedback. The TGC and android app used different flight models, this is why you have differences in distance.

Yes I found that once I could even get my Android to connect to the device (which it didn't at first....but months later on a different phone it would) The distances were WAY off for me. Mainly on longer clubs. Short wedges and pitch shots were pretty good...but anything over say a 9 iron began to get off and the Driver was way off.

Unfortunatly for Rapsodo...having the Phone APP allows us to go to the range and hit balls...so we see distances and flights. Of course the app is just a calculation based on input parameters that are sometimes off due to user error (alignment etc).

The sim is a terrific value for the money and I've had a bunch of fun with it....the app is just a toy thus far and not usable for my use.

I've found Rapsodo to be very helpful in many circumstances throughout the past year and I'm hopeful their engineering team can tweak things for the phone to allow for a better experience...but not before they give us TGC2019, even if it's a paid upgrade!!!

I have tried the Andriod app an it doesn't let you sign in. i have a Galaxy s9 and it doesn't work. Others have reported it but so far no fix. Too bad would like to have the product.

According to what I read ea MPH equals 2.4 yards. So 98 MPH should be 235 yards. Therefore the sim must be somewhat off.

I've found Rapsodo to be very helpful in many circumstances throughout the past year and I'm hopeful their engineering team can tweak things for the phone to allow for a better experience...but not before they give us TGC2019, even if it's a paid upgrade!!!

The issue with this, is this is the same message for the last several months, I have had nothing but good service from these folks, but the frustration level is mounting. Add in the fact that golf season will be over for us northern folk in less than a month, I just do not understand how there is not some communication outside of the most generic responses. People are reasonable, if they simply gave some feedback i.e. before xmas, next March etc then people can make logical decisions on if to stick with the product set.

I totally agree. Especially because there is no free upgrade or even discount to TGC 2019 if you purchase now. I’ve been wanting to buy the upgrade but don’t want to spend $500 only to have the product become obsolete in days/weeks. The old TGC on Skytrak is discounted, but it’s still full price for R Motion.

I love the product and customer service has been great, but I’m also frustrated by the wait on TGC 2019. I’m ready to upgrade!
