Average carry distances R-Motion vs. Mevo+

I no longer have the R-Motion but kept a cheat sheet with the average carry distances of my irons. I redid the sheet with my Mevo+. Not bad for $100.

Totally agree if they had upgraded R Motion to TGC 2019 it would compete even with the high price sims.

Great data!...Is that using the app or TGC?

So why do you think Rapsodo has lowered the price on RM 50% and started promoting their launch monitor that is $500? Maybe no clips? Maybe cuz its more mobile so you can take it to the range easier? but I know at my range I can pay $10 an hour to use Trackman so why use my own launch monitor.

Just curious...because if it is so accurate why basically give it away? I can't figure it out.

I think they basically stopped supporting it. I had broken clips that were supposed to be replaced my Rapsodo that never came. The numbers I got were through careful measurement and placement of the sensors. It doesn’t take much to move them off center. Also, R-Motion will often falsely reward you for topped shots and underestimates your bad ones. Not big deal if you are pretty consistent. Ultimately, I am glad I purchased this (and was able to return it) because it got my feet wet in the sim world with little cost.

Yeah it can be a pain to get everything just right but if you know that i think it can really help your swing. Wish they were still supporting it. Thanks for your feedback.

I really like R Motion it's fairly accurate and I enjoy playing the courses. IMHO I wouldn't buy anything from Rapsodo again seeing how they put out a new product and dropped R Motion. Who's to say they won't do the same thing again.

Exactly...Nbar...what clips do you have? How do you insure that it is always lined up correct? Does transferirng the senor become a pain for you like it does me?

I have the clips that have the hand screw not the Allen wrench type. I leave them on all the time even when playing real golf. They don’t distract me at all. Once mine were on and tight I very seldom have to adjust them. The senor was a pain but over time they aren’t as bad. I hold the butt end of the club on my waist and pull up on the senor. They probably have gotten looser from use. I guess I’m one of the lucky ones I haven’t had any problems with the dongle or the senor. I do enjoy playing the courses to me is very lifelike and close enough to my real game especially for the price point. Just wish they hadn’t dropped the product TGC 2019 would have made it great. One thing about the senor you may have found this out but be sure it slides in to both slots on the clip if it seems easier than usual it is in one side not the other. If you swing it like that the senor may fly out, found this out the hard way thank goodness it flew into the screen no damage.

Yeah...i had the sensor fly out a couple of times...spent about an hour searching for it as my garage has other stuff around...very frustrating and easy to do. I personally do not keep the clips on my clubs that i use on a real round. It would distract me too much and i play a ton of golf. I do like TGC though so i battle thru it.

If I use real balls thats when the sensor flys out, I use almost golf balls now & not had any problens since

How accurate is the R-Motion if you are using real balls vs almost golf balls? Have you seen any differences?

I am running into this problem now. I have had the setup for almost 2 years and my previous setup allowed real golf balls and was very accurate. But with the Callaway (orange) foam balls, I can't get consistent results.

I have tried four different types of foam balls (Callaway orange, Optishot yellow, and two other random ones found around the house) and can't seem to dial in the distances. 9 Iron traveling 125yds at best but normally my 150yd club on the course.

Try going in and changing the club length and loft. Also make sure the sensor is located in the correct position. Hope that helps.

I use Almost golf balls have the clips touching the bottom of the, grip changed the lofts to match the actual clubs that I use. went to the Protee driving range hit 10 shots with each club
& changed the length in the setting utill I was hitting the distance I get IRL.

Seems really acurate but always use a real ball for putting, only issue are miss hits topping & thin shots provided the club returns square on impact you still get a good shot.
