  • R-Motion & Obtaining a licence

    Hi guys,
Please could someone help me with setup?
I know that R-Motion are not supporting their sim anymore, but I have just set mine up again and played a fun round the other night.
I was wondering if there is any support for my sim to connect to the ProTee tour to play online in comps?
I am happy to buy a subscription or whatever is needed, in order to play online.
Please can someone help me in what I have to do?
I have searched the forums but can't find anything related to my questions...
    Thanx a lot

You need the full software version. Send ProTee a message asking them about the upgrade. Others have done it.

I have emailed Rapsodo and Protee.
Protee told me to contact Rapsodo...

Can you not purchase the full TGC license via the R-Motion software? That is the way the full TGC purchases have been working with R-Motion.

Once you purchase the full version of TGC, you will then be able to play online and in tournaments.

I have started the r-motion app and it does have an upgrade option...
Unfortunately, for r-motion users there is no monthly option, or any payment plan in place. It's a straight up US$500 payment!!
That equates to R10000 in South Africa.
You can now buy 2 of these r-motion setups including TGC software for that price!
            Absolutely ridiculous pricing structure!
If they had a monthly option then I could at least check it out and see if it's something I could get into, but at this price it's impossible!

Unfortunately, the upgrade path has always been this way. The R-Motion system is actually the only system (to my knowledge) that comes with a TGC "demo" package. The other systems require an all or nothing buy and their full price is about double for TGC. Granted, they also now have TGC 2019.

For the $500, you get online play, tournament play and access to all of the TGC1 courses available.

Their prices for outdated software is ridiculous. It maybe worth it if they had upgraded R Motion to TGC 2019 but I for one will play the 15 courses include. I know it is what it is they aren't interested in R Motion customers that's why I would never buy any other of their products for fear they would drop support like they did with R Motion.

Thats such a pity really because for the price of the system, it actually works really well.
I find it very playable and apart from chipping and putting which are very difficult indeed, it very much resembles how I play on the real course.
What is the next cheapest option that works well and incorporates support for their hardware?

I bet Rapsodo could make a few bucks lowering the TGC full price for R-Motion users. Even if they are not going to upgrade to 2019 I'd be interested in having access to online and all the courses with OLD software for around $150 or maybe even $199. But $500 for software on a device there is virtually no support on anymore is outrgeous. And no way I can buy their MLM as i don't have room in the garage for it and it's not compatible yet with any TGG 2019. Plus I that having to put an iPhone in it, I don't have one. I'm more inclined to move to a different device. But they couold keep me a lot longer if the TCG full license was $150.

I was told on a FB page that if you buy the full program for R Motion and end up moving to something like Mevo+, you can upgrade to TGC2019 from your current TGC. Cost is about $550 whereas full cost is close to $1000. So in reality, if you ever have plans to move to something that supports 2019, you are pre-paying for it with R motion. I've talked to a few people who still use R motion and have the full version and they said there is an active group out there still. And tons of courses. I am likely going to pay the $500 to unlock everything once my build is done since Mevo+ is on a forever backorder at this point.

Just an update. I reached out to Pro Tee directly and they told me the R motion full version is NOT upgradeable.. If I want to move to Mevo+ soon, they said it is best to wait until I et that as I would still be paying full price even if I purchased the full TGC for R Motion. So that cancels out my plans to buy it for now until Mevo starts shipping again.
