  • Dongle not found

When I open the R Motion app on my Windows 10 PC, I get a red X for Dongle Status. It seems this is a common issue, it is mentioned the FAQ, which says to turn off Windows Defender Real Time Protection and to go to Task Manager and click End Task for services.exe. I've turned off Defender. I've clicked on End Task for services.exe but is says "not authorized". The only way I've been able to get the dongle recognized is to restart the laptop.

    Any remedy for this issue?
    Thanks,
    Bill

Sorry to hijack, but my dongle isn't connecting to my laptop either.
I cant get past the First Time Setup in the R-Motion software.
I really think my dongle might not be working.

I can install the software no problem.
But R-Motion program does not see the dongle. Also I don't see any mention of R-Motion under my device manager.
I also have Real time protection turned off.

I have emailed support. But haven't gotten a reply.
Really looks like I was sent a dud :-(

If anyone has any tips & tricks I could try, please let me know.
    Thanks
    Ant

Before starting the r motion program on the pc you have the Bluetooth dongle and also the changing dongle with motion sensor connected right? Everything need to be connected to the pc so it will let you go forward and play the free courses.

When mine won’t connect I do a restart a couple of times then exit out of R Motion and restart it. If that doesn’t work after a couple of tries I pull the dongle out of the USB port and put it back in. Usually one or the other works. I also never take the dongle out of my PC unless I need to do the above.

          Hi there,
Thanks for the responses. Unfortunately the laptop is not recognizing the dongle.
Even when I take out and put the dongle back in - there is no 'ding' sound from the computer - (tried in 3 different laptops)

Have email Rapsodo support - no reply yet.
Even the website I bought it from have stopped replying to my emails.

          Thanks again.

I get a "ding" sound every time the dongle is inserted, even when the game does not recognize it. If you don't get a ding with 3 different laptops, it sure sounds like a bad dongle. Where did you buy it, can you get a refund?

So Rapsodo sent me a replacement dongle (they actaully sent 2 dongles and 3 clips - so that was an added bonus)
Plugged the new dongle into the laptop - DING DING - worked with no issues at all.
              Played 45 holes immediately :-)

              Thanks for all your help!!!

That's great news, especially in light of the several posts stating that Rapsodo had been unresponsive to support requests. Is the new dongle recognized every time you start the game, or do you need to restart the computer like most of us?

I had the same issue. The fix for me was going into the bluetooth settings on the laptop and turning off any bluetooth devices the laptop was connected to. Have not had any issues since.
