Hi all,
I received my MLM2PRO on 04/07. I've attempted to use it three times.
I have a 12th gen iPad with cellular service
I use the direct WiFi connect mode.
The first was a session at my local driving range. This session took almost 15 minutes to get the device connected and setup. For the most part it gave reasonable results. During this 1.5 hour driving range session the device disconnected from the MLM2PRO app twice and caused a delay of about a minute each time getting things reset.
The second use was at my friends garage based simulator. He has an R-10. We were anxious to try the MLM2PRO. There were two of us so we wanted to play some virtual golf. Turns out the Rapsodo 30,000+ simulated courses currently only support a single player. So we downloaded, paid for Awesome Golf which is really nice. However we suffered continuous disconnects. We never made it more than 3 holes into a simulated round before the device would disconnect and we would lose the round. It was so bad that we switched to using his R-10 with Awesome Golf and we easily completed 9 holes.
There was an app and firmware update about a week ago which I did.
Then yesterday we had snow which cancelled our outside round so we turned to the garage sim. I was hoping the update would have improved things. It appears it did marginally. Three of us warmed up then attempted to play a round on Awesome Golf. During the round starting at about hole 3 we began to get disconnects from the device. Finally on hole 5 it disconnected and could not recover. When this happened the light on the front when to a blue blinking state.
So we reset everything, we even moved the iPad to be within 3 feet of the MLM2PRO and we started another round on Awesome Golf. Same exact thing happened. 6 holes in everything died.
So 2.5 hours of golf with regular periods of frustration with the device.
It is unlikely my golf buddies will want to use the MLM2PRO next time we do indoor simulation.
I am hoping to build my own indoor golf simulator and was planning to base it around this device but until the device becomes stable it just is not worth the effort.
I'm going to give Rapsodo about two more months to try and improve things and if it is still not stable then it will go back for a refund.
