Accidentally going into auto rewind mode

When using the q/e keys to look ahead at a hole I must accidentally hit a key that puts me in auto rewind mode. It is super frustrating after hitting a good shot (and kind of nice after a bag one ) from what I can tell, there is no visual indication on the screen when this happens. Is there a way to disable this? Or any other suggestions?

Yes, when you hit R - in the upper right it will display auto rewind : enabled or disabled or text very similar for a few seconds then disappears
