  • Higher Resolutions in TGC to ST Interface?

I am running a Nvidia 1060 (6Gigs) with a Benq1125ST projector. I am also using a ST with TGC. I have a 10 x 9 screen. It appears I am limited to which resolutions I choose when I start and game from the TGC to ST interface. The highest resolution shown is 1920 x 1080 for me to select. The on-line instructions for this software show up to 4K resolution and indicate you can use any resolution supported by your graphics card. Am I missing some configuration that allows the TGC interface to know which resolutions my video card can produce?

I think you typed in your projector model number wrong, but unless you have a 4k projector (those usually cost $10k+) you won't be able to use 4k resolution. You could buy a 4k TV if you wanted to see the game in 4k, but the projector is much cooler

Good question. My card will only do 1080p, but just curious... Does TGC start-up screen recognize what card you have and then give you the 4k choice only if the card supports it?

I have a similar setup but with a BenQ HT2150ST. I don't think Windows will give you anything higher than the resolution of the display you are using even if the video card can display higher. I couldn't find BenQ 1125ST via Google search or BenQ website.

Sorry everyone...I am speaking about the HT2150ST projector. I realize I cannot get higher resolution out of the projector than HD. I would like the ability to pass a custom resolution thru the TGC to ST interface. I can then set a custom resolution for my 9ft x 10ft screen that will cover the entire screen. Maybe my math is off, but 4:3 does not fit a 10 x 9 screen exactly. Maybe I am trying to push a rope at this point ?

Software only does 4:3 or 16:10 or 16:9, I believe. I don't believe TGC will allow custom resolution of 10:9. 4:3 would be closest.

This is why people plan their screen dimensions based on the resolution ratio of their projector/use...

TGC software works with any custom resolution. I use one now since I prefer a more panoramic view than 16:9 provides.

If you have an NVidia card you use the resize option and maybe move your projector but you should be able to put in some work to fill that screen in 4:3 You just need to noodle a bit and you should be fine...

                Sledge,

You got my interest now....can you give me more details. You are using Nvidia option to resize after you have launched the TGC to ST interface and told TGC what resolution to use? If so, how do you accomplish this?

Do it prior to launching TGC. You should set the projector to 4:3 or 16:9 which ever offers the best fit initially(I personally use 4:3). Then try to mount the projector so you have the entire screen covered. (Some will definitely bleed over) Then you can go into the NVidia control panel, select the projector and use resize option. When doing this you should be able to shrink the width or height just enough to have a perfect fit. There is a video here https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=zsLs0TMfFws This little dude nails it and makes it easy to follow... I found that it works best to perform scaling on GPU, There is also an option to "do not report" that the guy doesn't mention in the video but this should allow you to run TGC at Full HD and fully cover your entire projector screen.
            Working...
