    Steam vs full sim version

I didn't know two versions existed. I haven't bought TGC yet. I have a skytrak. What do I need to know about the different versions? Sorry for my ignorance. Thanks.

I believe the steam version ($30ish) is a computer video game. The other ($900) is to be used to simulate golf with a ST or similar hardware. Some guys buy the video game version to see if they like it, while others buy it to make course building easier (I believe). I bought it for sim golf based on the overwhelming good reviews on this forum and love it. Play it everyday. 36 holes yesterday with tennis elbow! I can't be stopped! I'm not addicted though...

I believe the Steam version is just a "computer game" and not used as a simulator. The full sim version (which you HAVE to purchase from SkyTrak's web site) is what you want. If you are going with TGC I highly recommend that you purchase it if you can. You'll definitely save money if you are going to use it more than a year.

In one you control the ball with a joystick. In the other you use golf clubs.

Okay. So unlike JNPG, you do NOT start by buying the Steam version and then upgrading within it?
