  • Three shot gimmies from the fringe??

Frequently when playing with friends we turn the gimmies up to 6 feet (1) and 20 feet (2).

It just takes too long messing around on the green if we don't....although the green speed/stimp/firmness control has helped.

Sometimes, it seems that a reasonable approach shot that just misses the green, gets put in the hole with three stokes.

Haven't seen it enough, but it seems like "one on plus two putts".

    Am I seeing this correctly?

is there a way to make it stop and give chances for par-saves?

I believe you're currently using Distance gimmies...you should set it to On Green gimmies, and then it'll apply gimmies based on +1 for <6', and +2 for >6'

But I also never use these settings...so hopefully someone will confirm.

Finally found this thread GIMME 1 , GIMME 2 option (v3.0)

      Ball lands within 3 yards = +2

      Set Gimme +1 = 2 yards
      Set Gimme +2 = 15 yards

      Ball lands within 2 yards = +1
Ball lands within 15 yards AND is on green = +2
Ball lands within 15 yards and is NOT on green = +3

This allows devices that are not able to putt and to recognize short chips to skip putting and chipping.

      The other options:

On Green: Ball that lands on green = +2
Gimme: Ball that lands within 2 yards = +2 (default).

Thanks. So if you set the gimme +2 to a large distance that can be satisfied off the green, it indeed gives you "one on, plus two in"..got it.
