    Skytrak putting not registering

I've been having my skytrak for about a year now and TGC for a while also. Early on I turned putting off because shots wouldn't register the majority of the time and we had fun just setting to gimme. I decided to turn putting back on to add another level of play but I'm running into the same problems.

I only get a reading about 25% of the time. Has anyone had this issue and found a resolution? Below is my setup. Ive tried setting it up to have a longer runway but it didn't help, how far from the dot does it capture data anyways?

The only time i have issue with putts registering is when the skytrak is picking up something else in the room that is confusing it. Normally its people's shoes or pants, but it might be something behind you in the room that is shiny or white too.

Putting will easily pick up a ball that is 1.5" closer to the unit from the dot or farther away from the unit/dot.

When I was using my unit outdoors early last year I had to putt with the ball placed 6-8 inches behind the laser dot to get them to register

I would think if something else would be interfering it would also affect my normal shots right? I know it will pick up the ball closer or farther from the unit, I was more curious about how much runway would be needed to capture the putt. How many feet forward from the red dot does it capture. Most of the time when putting for me the laser light doesn't even turn off so it isn't registering a shot at all, sometimes the light will turn off but won't have sufficient data and I'll have to rehit. I only get a putt to register ever 4 or 5 shots. By that time I'm not even taking my time to think about the putt, just frustratingly wacking the ball to try and get a reading.

Are you using brand new balls with a very clear logo? I've found this to cause issues with no reads in the past.

A couple of days ago I had the exact same issue. Would only register 1 out of 5 putts or so, had no issue with lofted clubs however. After moving several things around in the background to no avail, I changed my pants and shoes and it solved it immediately. I had on black pants with a silver stripe down the side, and black shoes with silver linings, I switched to blue jeans and all black shoes. just an FYI

Stand on the other side of the ST unit and putt left handed. If it picks it up every time, you know it's something with you interfering. Also what is directly behind you, maybe something on the wall is interfering.

This may seem basic, but I will mention it anyway. Are you on the fringe in some cases in TGC? If you are on the fringe, you need to switch to the putter in TGC. I also know that you cannot putt from the fringe in E6 for Skytrak.

This isn't a fringe issue. Middle of the green, doesn't register most of the time. I'll just go back to playing on the green. I play in a shop with a lot of windows plus a bay door that is open when we are in there so that might be a reason but I feel like it would affect all shots and not just the putting if that was the case.

Update: I've set up a back drop behind me to try and eliminate any interference like lighting without any change. One thing I have noticed, it always reads the putt if I hit it hard (45ft) but will not register a normal 10ft putting stroke, the red dot never turns off on normal length putts.

All testing done on the protee range.

Edit: what does putter correction do in the settings?
Edit 2: 100% sucessful readings when hitting it hard. Only fails when hitting normal putts. I feel like this rules out any problems with my setup and points towards something hardware or software related.

Make sure you have the bottom of the SkyTrak level with your mat.

It limits the amount of HA to a max of 3 degrees.

I was having problem with putts reading with a evnroll putter that is silver. I switched to my odyssey dart which is a dark grey and I had a lot better luck with putts reading. But I still do get some non-reads.

From the picture, I have two questions to ask, 1. Is the Skytrak Unit's base even with the top of the hitting mat, and 2. is the red dot 11 1/2 inches to 12 1/2 inches away from the unit?
