SkyTrak/TGC something strange happening

I don't know if this means anything or not, but I notice that sometimes when I am playing TGC, when I get on the green or fringe, I will hear a chime and get a message that "SkyTrak is in putting mode", on the next tee, I get the chime and a message saying "SkyTrak is in normal mode". However, I would say the majority of the rounds I play I don't hear the chime or see the message (or maybe I am not noticing the message without the chime).

Has anyone else noticed this, and do you think it has any effect on gameplay?

I noticed this when ST was connected via USB in Windows 10. I think it might be normal, however, I would ensure you run the ST in network mode.

I always run in Network mode. It still amazes me that you get less misreads in network mode, than you do with a USB connection. You figure it would be like an internet connection, where you get better speeds with a hard wired connection than you do with a WIFI connection. Not the case with the SkyTrak though!

I get it to......I really think the only thing it means is it watching what you do a little bit closers (since your on or very near the green)!!

I'm going to assume you are running Windows 10. What you are seeing is the Windows notifications system interacting with the SkyTrak unit as it switches modes. You will only see these if you are playing TGC in windowed mode - the notifications do not show if you are in full-screen mode.

You can turn SkyTrak notifications (or all notifications) off in Windows settings.

These notifications are the main reason I despise playing TGC in windowed mode. Turning them off makes things much more enjoyable, but beware that after you update the ST software it may turn notifications back on and you'll have to go in and disable them again.
