  • St. Andrew Links - Old Course now available

TheCLV24 who did Magnolia, Merion, Pinhurst, and Oakmont released a new version of St.Andrews that is fantastic. Do yourself a favor and give it a try.

Looks solid. Should make sure this is the one that we play next month on the tour.

Just curious, how'd you find out about it? With the bajillion courses on TGC, I'm not convinced that I have been finding the best versions of courses all of the time, when they don't say protee in the title. TIA.

I know you're not asking me, but I'm in the process of making my own list for courses. Generally I keep an eye on the new courses within TGC for one, but also search for certain courses, and pull em up on google earth to see how close of a replica they are. Watching other forums for TGC is good for some of the better known designers like TheCLV for instance.

Ok, so you just keep an eye on forums for TGC (whether it be console, pc, sim)? .. or are you saying there's a way to search new courses? Not at my pc right now, so that might be a really dumb question. I know I always search for 'highest rated' by all time, month, etc, but I can't remember if there's a recently added or something like that. If there is I gotta believe there's like thousands of courses added when they do a server refresh, no? Seems like it'd be a job to work through.

And yeah, I like to look at google earth and pics on course web pages to see how good the design is. Pretty crazy how close some are.

Ya there is a "newest" option in there, and the other filter you just put it on "Public." But you are right about the sync and tons of new courses, what I am looking at is on PS4, so the new courses I find, won't be available til the next sync. I believe it was on the Console/PC tour page, where I saw that the St Andrews course was available.

This is the place I visit to check on courses. Keep in mind with TGC2 coming out soon the courses for TGC will virtually completely stop. While TGC courses will be compatible with TGC2, courses designed for TGC2 will have extra features so I can't see how they will work with TGC. Glad that CLV released St. Andrews on TGC so we could get it.
