  • 4 wedges in bag - how do people differentiate during round

I'm sure there has to be some others out there playing with 4 wedges in the bag. How do you go about differentiating them when as far as I can see there are only three options to choose from during a TGC round (PW, SW, LW). Guess I could use the 3i since I don't have one but that is not intuitive at all.

I have 4 wedges myself (PW, SW, GW, LW). When I'm playing a round in TGC, I just select SW whenever I hit my GW or SW. It really doesn't make a difference what club you choose, because your launch monitor is reading the ball data (if you are using a SkyTrak). I don't think there is anywhere in TGC (I could be wrong) that shows you your different club data like the SkyTrak does.

I use 4 wedges and I don't pay attention to what the clubs are called, unless I'm trying to putt from the fringe, then you have to change it. I guess if you are trying to view data later this could be a problem.

When playing designating which wedge does not matter unless you wanted to track your stats. That being said, it is important that you call it a wedge, not an iron. It affects the spin and how it interacts with the green. When it is designated an iron, it will roll more than when designated as a wedge hit as the same shot, particularly with shorter chips and pitches. I do not have all the settings in front of me that are different between wedge and iron, but there are several differences. I am not just talking about launch angle but rather how TGC reacts to a particular type of club.

this is true for those with the protee system but for launch monitors like skytrak and gc2 it shouldn't matter which club is selected except for putter.

This is news to me. I thought it only matters if putter is selected. How did you come to find this?

Inorkuo is correct. This is for protee not skytrak or gc2
