  • TGC missing shots on Skytrak

I am new to Skytrak and TGC. My Skytrak records shots accurately with practice and challenge. When I play TGC it misses quite a few iron shots and the majority of chips and putts, the shorter the more misses. I have a new computer with good specs. I am connected USB, it won’t connect in network, though I can connect network with Skytrak only.
    Any suggestions, it’s unplayable now.

I would say you need to get your ST connected in network node, not USB when using TGC. Play with the timing on syncing up the TGC interface to get it working. And just in case it is throwing you off.throwing you off, ignore the wording on the TGC interface that says “connect your ST via usb and then press” here button. It can be in network mode when you hit this button.

Thanks I got it working, however I was putting on hole 2 and it lost connection. I couldn’t figure a way to reconnect without logging out TGC and restarting Skytrak practice to network then closing it and reopening TGC, any fixes?

I found this on another thread.. have not tried this method

When you get 1 green and 2 red lights, we find you can power off the Skytrak, and alt-tab to the interface window, power on the skytrak again, and hit the "Connect the box" button, then alt-tab back to TGC, this generally works for us, and means you don't have to restart your round (really annoying when you are up but a couple of holes and at the 15th)

This method also works when you start to get random reads, i've had a couple of push cut drivers that have gone 420yds, and then we've had random shots that will start 11* right or left when they were straight down the line (both drivers, and irons).

Had the same problem for weeks until I found a solution on this forum. The shorter the putt, the further away from the read laser dot you want to put the ball. We have found that moving it on a diagonal (the same direction as the laser is pointed) works best. In the past few months, we have nearly 100% registration of chips and putts.

To be clear, for putts between 4'-20' you will move the ball:

          1. Away from the SkyTrak up to ~2" for the shortest putt (moving it closer as the putts get longer)
          2. Away from the Screen up to 1" behind the laser dot (approximately the same diagonal as the laser from the ST)

We have found this to work well with Chips from the fringe as well.

Keep in mind I am using E6 not TGC but I believe this is specific to the SkyTrak.

Another tip that seems to have worked for us is for driver; set the ball about an inch behind the laser (away from the screen on a perpendicular line). Seems to give the ST more time to analyze and produce more accurate results for driver.

          Hope this helps!
