    Hello, I’ve been following this forum since I purchased a Skytrak back in November. Last weekend I decided to purchase TGC. It looks great from what I have seen and played so far and I’m sure it will keep me busy in the garage!

    A have a question: has anyone figured out the best way to let your kids play without having them affect your handicap? From what I’ve read, there can only be one user and the other players need to be guests. But if I’m not around and they want to play, they will have to use my user, correct?

    if they play a partial round (like 9 holes) then end the round, will their stats count against mine? I wonder if they can just play partial rounds every time they play.

    I’ve read a few posts related to this but haven’t seen how others get around this.

    Others with more experience/knowledge will chime in as well I am sure. But I have a 7 year old who plays various courses on tgc under my Id. Based on my experience and readings here, the non-tournement handicap is really not too accurate. This is due to the fact that it is designed for Pc/game console play and therefore the course rating and slope are out of whack. The handicap for the tour is a more accurate handicapping system. (If you haven't joined the tour you should. It's a fun aspect of the game and adds to the 'realism' feel with the adrenaline) So as long as your kids aren't playing the tournement rounds under your name your are good since the handicap system isn't too good for sim play.
    There are several kid friendly courses out there and there is a kid tournament that is getting under way as well if your kids are interested. But have at it with the kids playing under your Id in the non-tournament courses and smile at their progress and the fun they have.

      In the game I manually set my cap. The tour cap is what matters. The game cap is useless. Don’t let your kid play in tour events.

        Thanks for the comments. I played 9 holes with my two boys tonight (11 and 16). We had a blast!
