  • SkyTrak / TCG connection issue

Since golf season is in full swing, I haven't played any tournament rounds (or any rounds for that matter) on TGC in a while. I do use my SkyTrak quite frequently though. Today I decided I would play a few practice holes, and then play the tournament rounds. The problem is, I am having all kinds of connection issues with TGC.

I use Network Mode with both my SkyTrak and TGC software. I have had zero issues with the SkyTrak. The problem is connecting with TGC. Nothing in my hardware setup has changed, nor the way I have always done things. My routine is:
    1. Start SkyTrak
    2. Start SkyTrak software. Check leveling and alignment, close out of SkyTrak software.
    3. Start "SkyTrak/TGC Interface"
    4. Click on "Connect Box"
    5. Once it says box is connected, I start game, choose my resolutions options, and go.

So I go to my favorite driving range to hit a few balls first. I hit two or three balls and then noticed no red laser dot. SkyTrak lights are (top to bottom) Red-Green-Green.

I close out of TGC, close the interface window (notice it is not connected to the box), restart the SkyTrak, then launch the "SkyTrak/TGC Interface again, and start the process over again. I get one or two shots, and then lose connection with the SkyTrak. I even tried playing a round. I get one or two shots, and then lose the laser. When I close out of the game I see I have lost connection to the SkyTrak. Normally the lights are (as stated above) Red-Green-Green, but a few times they were Red-Yellow-Green.

It's so weird as my SkyTrak works flawlessly with the SkyTrak software.

In case it helps, here are my versions:

    SDK Version: 1.55
    Firmware Version: 1.7
    App Version: 1.45

Any ideas will be greatly appreciated!

This topic, or something similar, just came up on TGC discord channel.
Here was the answer for ProTee. "The SkyTrak range does not require any internet. TGC does." The range may just require internet to check the licence.
So it makes sense that you may have an internet problem you're not aware of?
    Hope this helps.

Thanks. I didn't realize that. Guess I need to start checking what's up with my connection.

Going to pick up a Wi Fi extender on my way home from work today, and see it that helps.
