I've had my sim up and running great for about 3 months now. This weekend I started to explore the tournament play. I have no manual so I'm just trying to figure out as I go. So I found a list of public tournaments and I joined one called 'Crooked Sticks'. It was a one round 18 hole tournament. I thought I played pretty well. Even though I hit the ball in the water three times I still finished with an even 80, plus 8 for the round. Problem is I got last place. I was 10th out of 10 and the player who got 9th place shot a 5 under 67. The leader shot about a 60. So I'm wondering did these guys miss there calling, should they be on the PGA tour? Or......did I just play against a bunch of guys who are playing on the video game version? I noticed that in the listing of the tournaments this one was listed as 'Protee' although I have no idea what that means. What is the difference between Protee and The Golf Club?

They were probably not playing with a simulator. Just playing the computer game. You should play the protee tournaments. Go to q school and get your handicap. It's a lot of fun.

blitz12 I played the first round of the Q school Magnolia tournament. The tournament is three rounds. I went back the next day and played another round. It thought I was playing the first round again. How do I go to where I left off and continue to play the second round?

If you enter the same tournament it should have started you on the second round automatically. Do you see your score and name on the leaderboard in the q school thread?

We don't play on the same servers as the console players. There are certain factors that lead to the low scores. 6 foot gimmes, reading the green, perfect lie every time. If a player plays 10 sim rounds to every round IRL, his sim game will be better by far. Once you figure out chipping and putting, your scores will drop as well. Welcome to the tour.
