Haven't played the simulator TGC much in the last 2 years. Started it up today and everything works.
Question though on the different "penalties" applied to different lies. etc.
Right off the first tee I found the rough. Hit an iron, level lie, GC2 gave me a carry of 148 yds. The TGC2019 on screen "penalized" the shot out of the rough to a carry of 60 yards.
I used to play this setup often but haven't for the last couple of years. I don't remember simple lies in the rough being that penal. Has something changed in the settings? Are the settings administered thru the protee interface, or thru the GSX software? Are there new versions of the protee or gsx software?
Just wondering because when I play the simulator I don't want to be in a survival contest, where missing the fairway means a multi shot beatdown. Is it possible that the settings got messed up? I tried 2 courses that I have played before and this behavior was very unrealistic and consistent. thanks
