Feature Request: Named saved rounds

Right now the software remembers if you have an in-progress round so you can resume it the next time. The problem with this is if you have a few friends over to play (for example) Pebble Beach. You quit after 12 holes and plan to have them back in a couple weeks to finish. You're now stuck unable to play pebble until then or it will clear the saved round. So, i'd like to request a prompt when exiting a round to save it under a name, with the ability to save multiple in-progress rounds for any course. Then, an option on the main menu to Resume Round that would pop up a list of all saved/in-progress rounds.

The other thing this would do is provide a workaround for the inability to start on a certain hole. Let's say you always like to practice on hole 12 at Magnolia or hole 7 at pebble beach. With this function, you could play a round until you get to that tee, then save it under a suitable name - i.e. "Magnolia Hole 12". Nice and easy to call up and put on auto-rewind whenever you want to practice that hole...or when you have people over and just want to call it up to all hit some shots on a famous hole.

Really? No one has backed me up and said this is the greatest idea they've ever heard and we need to make it a top priority? (Well, that may be overkill...but I think it's a decent idea!)

I did say that was a great idea..... I even said it real loud.... just had not typed anything.

Not sure what would be easier to do, that idea or just have a skip hole button and then you could at least skip to the hole you want to practice.

That is a great idea!!!! Actually, I figured that would be standard practice. The only reason I did not say anything is that my sim is still not functional and I have not played yet.

Interesting.... I assumed the option to continue an unfinished game would still be there, no matter how many unfinished rounds you had going. You would just have to act like you're starting a new round, and then when you select the course, there should be a continue option as well as a new round option. Is that not the case? I'll have to check this out.

Good call rdh. I thought if you finished your new game, that your last unfinished round would still be saved... That's not the case. At the very least, that should be happening. Full save functionality would be great.

By the way... A solution to your issue while waiting for better save features, is to play the way I do with my friends. I set up Tournaments using the Competition feature in TGC. You can make multiple rounds or just 1 round. Makes for a different level of fun too. Saves the games as the tourney and not in place of a casual game. Check it out for your future get-togethers!
